In April 2014, before Cardano was created and before Ethereum was launched, I went to the Toronto bitcoin convention and chatted to Charles Hoskinson about Bitcoin and what people were calling "Bitcoin 2.0"
He explains the basics of why blockchain technology is important, why he was excited about Ethereum, and where he thought it would be in 10 years' time.
