MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons.
Parliamentary secretary Pam Damoff and Liberal MP Taleeb Noormohamed speak with reporters about the Liberals' decision to withdraw controversial amendments to its gun bill (C-21) that would have expanded the list of banned firearms in Canada. Noormohamed made the announcement earlier during a meeting of the House of Commons public safety committee. NDP House Leader Peter Julian and NDP public safety critic Alistair MacGregor also comment on the withdrawal of the Liberal amendments.
Innovation Minister François-Philippe Champagne faces questions about the announcement that Medicago, a COVID-19 vaccine manufacturer based in Quebec City, will be ceasing its operations.
Parliamentary secretary Bryan May and NDP MP Taylor Bachrach comment briefly on the suspected Chinese surveillance balloon that crossed over into Canadian airspace. (February 3, 2023)
