“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

Explanation and Commentary of Isaiah 5:20
There are two kingdoms, two paths, two ways of life. There is good and evil, love and hate, right and wrong. Those of the evil one love the darkness and “like Cain…belong to the evil one.” (1 Jn 3:12).

Similarly, Paul said that we are the aroma of Christ (2 Cor 2:15-16), sweet to those who love God but smelling of death to those who are perishing. The world will look at the love and goodness of the people of God and hate it. The darkness hates the light (Jn 3:19-20). In every generation there are things that the culture loves and finds good and pleasing, but that God despises.
