My Recent Half-Marathon Adventure: How I'm Doing on the Road to Recovery?

After the half marathon on Sunday, I have been recovering well and am back in the gym working hard. My body is feeling strong and I'm definitely not missing a workout. This week I'm taking it to the next level by engaging in a 36-hour fast as part of my recovery plan. Fasting has been proven to help promote cellular clean-up, so it's essential for helping me recover from intense training sessions quickly. As part of this fast, I'll be abstaining from food and drinks with calories but will still be getting plenty of hydration with water, herbal teas, or black coffee. This type of fasting is known as intermittent fasting and can help reset your metabolism while providing some amazing health benefits. During this time, it's important to focus on getting enough sleep, but like many others, I'm working out just as hard as any other day. I simply don't feel the need to do light exercises such as walking or stretching so that my body can rest and recharge. After this 36-hour fast wraps up I'm looking forward to fueling my body with the carnivore diet I love so much, and getting back to eating dairy as well as all meats. With the combination of proper recovery workouts, restful sleep, smart nutrition choices, and intermittent fasting, I'm confident that my body is on track for even better performance in future marathons.
