France will send 12 more howitzers to Ukraine, according to an update on the conflict there.

According to Sebastien Lecornu, the French Defense Minister, France will supply 12 more Caesar howitzers to Ukraine (January 31).

In response to a question regarding giving Ukraine combat jets, he stated, "There is no taboo." Although no decision has yet been made, he said, France and Ukraine have considered training Ukrainian pilots to fly French fighter jets.

Lecornu reaffirmed France's stance on arming Ukraine, stating that doing so shouldn't harm France's own defense capabilities, should be beneficial to Ukraine in its fight with Russia, and should only be done so for self-defense.
