Extreme weather, from hot to cold, sweeps across the country

A major ice storm is tightening its grip on the middle of the country, and travel will be treacherous. More than 1,000 flights have already been canceled. But it's not just the ice making news. Weather extremes, both hot and cold, are stretching from coast to coast, from 60 degrees below zero in the west to historic winter warmth in Florida.
