On January 31, 1967 John Lennon purchased a poster that served as the inspiration for his iconic song, “For the Benefit of Mr. Kite”. The poster was from a local circus in Liverpool and detailed acrobats, a horse, and other performers that had been hired to perform at a show. Lennon was so taken by the colorful poster that he wrote an entire song based on it which has gone on to become one of The Beatles' most beloved tracks.
