A paper recently published in BMC Infectious Diseases entitled The role of social circle COVID-19 illness and vaccination experiences in COVID-19 vaccination decisions: an online survey of the United States population appears to be one of the most ridiculous antivaxxer papers published to date. Antivaxxers are using it to make the absurdly false claim that vaccine deaths in the US could be as high as 278,000. Dr Susan Oliver and Cindy the dog go back to the science and explain why the paper doesn’t show what is being claimed by the authors and the antivaxxers who are amplifying it.
