Inside the Mind of Melissa Calusinski | The Care Center Worker Interrogation

Jan. 14, 2009: Melissa Calusinski, an aide at Minee Subee in the Park day care center in Lincolnshire, finds toddler Benjamin Kingan unresponsive in his bouncy chair. He’s rushed to a hospital but is pronounced dead a short time later. Calusinski, then 22 and said by her lawyers to have low IQ, undergoes 10 hours of questioning from investigators. She suggests she might have accidentally hurt Benjamin but eventually answers “yeah” when an detective describes her throwing him to the floor. She is charged with first-degree murder and held in the Lake County jail.
