The Sterling SMG is a direct descendent of the Sten gun, which in turn was a descendent of the German MP28/II (most don’t want to admit this ;) . An interesting lineage considering that the SMG lasted until the 90's before Commonwealth Forces retired the system.

Noted for it's tame recoil, rugged reliability and as the base-weapon for the Star Wars Stormtrooper's E-11 blaster, the Sterling SMG is an iconic firearm.
