Exway Atlas Pro 4WD (Ace Gear Drive) Episode 5: Hill, Quarter-pipe, Turning

45

I'm still alive! I tried a teardown of the gear-drive, but aborted when the sun came out yesterday. So, apologies, that teardown is coming! I promise!

This is just a generic riding video, addressing hill climbing, the quarter-pipe and turning. Honestly more of a video for me to try out some more video editing than anything.

Hill climbing: 45 degrees is not an issue, unless it has rained or is muddy. The traction control algo is not the best, as there is wheelspin when one wheel breaks through, and it seems the ESC dumps all torque to that wheel. I have not stalled it out on a slope yet...traction gives out before that happens.

Quarter-pipe: Improvised grassy hill. It ranges from 20 to 50 degree slope, with a gradual shoulder and trough, allowing for nice parabolic rides. Only using 20-50 percent throttle here as I'm still concerned about the integrity of my bones

Trail-riding: This is where it excels. If you want a nice, sedate board so you can follow your onewheel buddy, this checks the box pretty well. If you want to really hit the trail hard, it does that well too. I can see where a Trampa/Propel/Baja Board beats this thing on the trails, and with jumps, but this is amazing for an out of the box experience. It is like a Landrover, it can do the trails...but also looks classy enough for a millionaire footballer to drive to dinner.

Anyhow, please give me some things to test out! Things on the list:
-Hill death battle with a Trampa
-Towing cars (comparing revel kit, L-Faster Belt Drive and Exway Atlas Pro)
-Gearbox teardown
-Electronics Deep Dive
