Dr. Nikolai Petrovsky is a professor of medicine at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia. He is the founder and chairman of Vaxine, which has developed numerous vaccines since its establishment in 2002. Dr. Petrovsky has a Ph.D. in immunology and has been researching and developing vaccines for 25 years. His company, Vaxine, has developed the Covax-19 vaccine for Covid based upon safe vaccine technologies that have been in use for decades. At the time of this interview, the Covax-19 vaccine has been used on 12,000 test subjects in Iran with zero severe adverse reactions.

On being the first human test subject…
"I've always taken the view that ethically and morally, before I give what is, at the time an experimental vaccine to a willing volunteer that I'm obliged to have it myself and to have the confidence that it is safe before I give it to someone else. So yes, I'm always the first in line when it comes to a new vaccine we're going to be trialing in other humans."

On no severe adverse reactions in 12,000 test subjects…
"We've not seen any vaccine related serious adverse reactions. We get the normal tenderness in the arm when you've had the vaccine, which may last up to a day or so. We've had people report flu like symptoms, aches and pains, headaches for up to a day or so after having the vaccine. But that's expected from really any of the approved vaccines that we have as children; the normal side effects. We haven't seen any serious side effects that are related back to our vaccine."

On reporting adverse reactions to vaccines…
"Reporting of adverse events should be mandatory. Whereas we know, particularly in countries like Australia, the regulators have done everything to threaten doctors, to force them not to report any adverse reactions. And those doctors who do report adverse reactions have been threatened with having their medical registration suspended. It's a disgraceful situation. It goes against everything that should take place during drug development."
