Follow this one tip to sand quicker

Most people start around 120 or 80, but I actually start at 40 or 60 grit since that does the initial flattening of material and then I work through the grits -> 40 -> 60 -> 80 -> 120 -> 180 -> 220
If the surface is planed, then I’ll start at 80 or 120.
