Canada’s Finances + New Taxes in 2023 with Franco Terrazzano

Canada’s economic challenges have been a massive conversation in our nation this past year.

The federal debt is now $1.2 trillion, with interest on this debt being one of our nation’s most significant expenses.

All of this contributes to the recently soaring inflation, impacting almost every area of life.

The carbon tax is set to increase on April 1, 2023, which will undoubtedly drive gas, food and utility prices up even more.

Finally, increased interest rates have many Canadians wondering if they’ll be able to keep their homes when their mortgages are refinanced.

In this context, governments should be looking for ways to save and ease the tax burden on Canadians. Some provincial governments are taking steps in this direction. However, the federal government is INCREASING several taxes in 2023.

Here today to update us on what is happening is the Federal Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, Franco Terrazzano. He and his team work hard to monitor how elected officials steward public funds and bring that information to you and me.

Thanks for joining us.
