Proud Boys' Attorney Norm Pattis Announced He Will Subpoena Donald Trump To Testify During J6 Trial

Defense attorneys representing leaders of the Proud Boys cross-examined a witness presented by government prosecutors on Wednesday.

The government claims the five J6 defendants, --Enrique Tarrio, Joseph Biggs, Dominique Pezolla, Ethan Nordean and Zachary Rehl -- conspired and executed an "insurrection" on January 6 and are guilty of "seditious conspiracy," a federal crime that warrants a 20-year prison sentence. However, Tarrio did not attend the riot at the Capitol, Biggs walked into the Capitol for mere minutes and never committed an act of violence, nor did Rehl, Pezolla or Nordean.

The witness, Matthew Greene, a 35-year-old man from New York who joined the Proud Boys weeks prior to January 6, was facing a 41-year prison sentence for his actions on Capitol Hill as Congress certified the rigged presidential election results. But Greene was released from jail in March and may be exonerated of nine federal charges.

During cross-examination on Wednesday, defense attorneys representing the defendants argued Greene is coordinating and complying with federal prosecutors to make a case against the Proud Boys so that he may be fully exonerated of 8 federal charges and a four-decade prison sentence.

After jurors were adjourned on Wednesday, Norm Pattis, the attorney representing Joe Biggs, informed Judge Timothy Kelly of his intent to subpoena former President Donald Trump, noting the former commander-in-chief's testimony is critical to detailing the events that actually transpired on January 6. It remains unclear whether Judge Kelly will allow the defense to move forward with the subpoena.
