Belgian Malinois picks up tissue and hands back to trainer for the first time!!!

As some of you know, I am trying to train peaches as a service dog. I have had her for 6 months. She was so unsocialized and traumatized when I got her that she was terrified. She didn’t know her name or even one word. Anytime she was gotten out of her four by six foot run she was treated rough and it was very scary for her. It has taken her a long time to even begin to trust or for her to want to try anything because she was afraid of getting in trouble all the time. She now will hand me the clothes out of the laundry basket for me to fold. This was the first time that she had offered to pick something up for me that I had dropped. I thought it was a just an accident her picking it up to start with. But when she did it three times in a row I knew it had finally clicked in her mind, what I had been wanting. With a dog like her I have worked more on building her confidence and her trust and our bond. She has taught me to be patient. Especially with the Belgian Malinois you have to get them to want to do for you because you’re sure can’t make them do something.
