Evolving the FDD

This proposal aims to discontinue the Fraud Detection and Defense (FDD) workstream and create an Open Data Community (ODC) workstream with its own budget in Season 17. The proposal states that the FDD has failed to ship production, and the ODC is the future of what the FDD should be.

The proposal also recommends separating the Sybil-Analysis spinout for further incubation as its own workstream or moving Data Science and Sybil Analysis into the Passport 'customer' workstream, and pausing Sybil Legos until there is Product/Engineering leadership with a proven track record.

Lastly, the proposal encourages FDD contributors to create a proposal for an independent investment and governance process that can be ratified and used to fund investable spinout workstreams.

Split Up the Gitcoin Product Collective

This proposal aims to split the Gitcoin Product Collective (GPC) into the Gitcoin Grants Stack workstream and the Gitcoin Passport workstream in the next budget cycle for Season 17.

The Gitcoin Grants Stack workstream will combine the Product, Design, and Engineering teams from Round Manager and Grant Hub, while also including part-time or full-time Marketing, DevRel, and Support contributors. The estimated budget for the Gitcoin Grants Stack is $300,000 per month.

The Gitcoin Passport workstream will encapsulate the Passport Pod into a single budgeted workstream with the same Product, Design, and Engineering teams, while also including part-time or full-time Marketing, DevRel, Support, and Data Science contributors. The estimated budget Gitcoin Passport is $150,000 per month.
