An offset refers to the distance between the centerline of a wheel and the mounting surface of the hub.

It is measured in millimeters and can be positive, negative, or zero.

A positive offset means the mounting surface is closer to the front or street facing side of the rim.

A negative offset means the mounting surface is closer to the back or vehicle side of the rim.

A zero offset means the mounting surface is in the center of the wheel.
