With the rapid rise of chest rigs and recce applications, a major capability gap has been exposed: dedicated chest rig/recce hydration. Traditionally, the issue of chest rig hydration has been addressed by simply wearing a legacy CamelBak bladder hydration pack. Unfortunately, the failure of issued hydration bladders in the field is well known and well documented. The other major challenge with legacy hydration bladders is that they serve only one function: hydration.

In August 2016, we presented the world with an alternative to traditional hydration bladders: IcePlate® Classic - a hard cell hydration bladder that is many times stronger in every way than a traditional soft bladder, but shaped like a Medium SAPI armor plate so it could be worn between your body and your plate carrier. With the ability to freeze it, fill it with room temperature water, or hot water, IcePlate® is the only hydration bladder with the ability to provide conductive cooling and heating with the water we all already carry to survive in the field. In 2019, we launched the second generation IcePlate® Curve which now featured conformal multi-curve geometry to match the Medium ESAPI armor plate. The new IcePlate® Curve is significant step forward in terms of ergonomics and performance enhancement.
