White King Bolete- Boletus Barrowsii growing in the PNW

In this video I find a beautiful cluster of Boletus Barrowsii, aka the White King, aka White Porcini.
This is a very handsome Boletus that is primarily "white." This mushroom is a very highly sought after culinary delight, and a somewhat rare and extremely awesome find here in the Pacific Northwest.
These mushrooms are pored "boletus" mushrooms, referring to the pore filled, sponge-like surface under the cap where spores are produces. Boletus as a genus and are sought after all over the world for their sweet and amazing flavor. These mushrooms could fetch $50 lb in the north american markets.
They are mycorrhizal mushrooms, meaning they associate with trees or plants. This particular mushroom is found mostly under ponderosa pine in the southwest US, and live Oak here in the Northwest, but as this video shows, they can also be growing under copper and american beech trees, as Tony Rousseau pointed out to me, these mushrooms like to associate with a variety of different trees, making them somewhat promiscuous.
I was happy to find these mushrooms on a hint from a friend, and cooked some up in butter with a small pinch of salt tonight. These mushrooms need no accompaniment in the kitchen.
