NAUGHTY SUBSTANCE hidden in beach snack 🇱🇰

Whilst biting into this Sri Lankan snack, I didn't expect to find it filled with betel nut.

I first tried some sort of candy floss/cotton candy within a wafer, which tasted as you'd expect. This is a standard candy sweet snack around the world.

The I stumbled upon this guy selling something wrapped in a leaf, all different colours, catching my attention. He then sprinkled some jelly sweets on top, some clear meth looking thing, then some herbs. Once I bit into it, I was shocked, I was expected it to be sweet, and it was not. It tasted like wood shavings soaked in petrol.

It was only later on when I was chilling trying to get the bits out of my teeth that I realised I recognised the flavour from the fine dining in Pakistan video I did with Kurt Caz. We were given an ice cream made from paan, which is the betel plant. I then asked a few people to try to confirm that's what it was, and I was right, it was a chaalia snack. Crazy. I would not recommend it, it was horrible, but maybe my reaction was so strong because I was expecting it to be sweet.

Everything seems to be around 200 rupees at this beach, which is $1, except the shrimp thing Tanya ate which was only 60? Crazy, that should be well more. Maybe I got ripped off by the others, who knows. Sri Lankans can answer that in the comments.
