Eating solo in dangerous Dominican Republic hood! 🇩🇴

If you search online as to whether the Dominican Republic is dangerous or not, you'll probably come to the conclusion of it being dangerous, without ever actually visiting this country.

That goes for a lot of countries. Is Dominican Republic dangerous? I don't know, but based on how long I've been here, so far... no, not at all.

Remember that tour companies, travel agents and hotels will want you to book all inclusive holidays which are more expensive, so you make them some nice commission. When in reality, these places aren't as dangerous as people say, the food is better outside of their awful regurgitated buffets and the people you meet outside of the hotel are genuinely friendly.

I walked around this town called Verón with my camera out in plain view, as an obvious tourist here in the Dominican Republic, and nobody tried to attack me, steal the camera, or anything dangerous. A few people shouted over to me, but that's standard in any country.
