Wild Mushrooms Growing In The Spring- May 2022

In this video Aaron Hilliard, creator of mushroom wonderland, vice president of the Kitsap Peninsula Mycological Society, and Pacific Northwest Mushroom expert takes us on a walk into the forests of Western Washington to see what kind of fungi is growing, and to identify it, learn to distinguish features of certain mushrooms, and discuss all about how wild mushrooms grow.

We get to take a close look at Amanita pantheranoides, the western panther cap. We look at a newly described species of Entoloma / Noleana. We come across a surprising Xerocomellus atropurpureus, we see wild Oyster Mushrooms aka Pleurotus ostreatus, we check out a Suillus species of mushroom, as well as many others.
