Telluride Mushroom Festival 2022- The Road To Telluride

In this video we take a long awaited trip to Telluride Colorado, deep into the heart of the Rocky Mountains on the 1300 mile plus journey to the biggest mushroom festival in North America. The 42nd annual Telluride Mushroom festival.
This festival has been held every August since 1982. My wife and I decided to make the journey and document the trip. We stay the night in farewell bend State Park in oregon, right on the border of Oregon and idaho. Crazy history about the Oregon trail in this very spot. Then we drive on to salt Lake City where we stay a night at a hotel, and make the final push to Telluride where we stay in a hotel one night, and then camp the next couple nights.
We get lucky enough to see the premiere of Louie schwartzberg's new film Gratitude Revealed and on the first night I get to take a midnight foray with the great Alan Rockefeller to the top of the mountain and look for mushrooms and various things that Glow under black light.
The next morning we look about town a little bit and then end up taking a different foray with the great Larry Evans, the Mushroom Man himself, and get to do a bit of an interview with him. Then we pack up our hotel and head for camp, a beautiful place called priest Lake. It's a primitive camping spot with no running water or electricity, and just an outhouse for facilities. We hike around the lake and have a look at all of the thousands of beautiful mushrooms that are growing in the middle of August and colorado. That is the start of their rainy season. Then we head back into town where we check out some of the vendors and go to another lecture given by Bryn Dentinger about psychedelic mushrooms.
On the last day we managed to take even another foray around the beautiful mountains surrounding Telluride and then make our way to the parade, probably the most iconic part of the festival. We certainly didn't capture everything on video. I heard some other lectures that I didn't get any footage of, we met some awesome people. We ate some great food, and had an unforgettable time.
