Craftsman hand tools have been a staple in our shop for the last 25 years, but we have very little experience with the power tools. Since Stanley Black & Decker took over Craftsman, we decided to give you a look at the performance of the tools and give everyone an idea of what they might want to buy. In our first Craftsman V20 review, we went over an angle grinder that sold as a bare tool for $49. That tool was impressive for the cost and one we would add to our tool collection. This impact wrench is a bit over double the cost at $119 bare tool and $189 with a 4.0Ah battery and charger.

When you compare it to other tools on the market, it is priced fair. You can currently get the Porter Cable impact wrench, almost identical, for $160 with the battery, but the fate of Porter Cable might be dark with Craftsman taking over many of their tools. There are also many other options if you want a bit smaller and more powerful impact wrench if you want to spend more money.

Overall, this Craftsman V20 impact wrench is great for rotating tires and doing other DIY tasks where you have a lot of room. This impact wrench is a bit long but very balanced and smooth. The power is good and should easily handle and normal vehicle lug that is considered a passenger vehicle.

We have also been listening to the rumors that the Kobalt line at Lowes might be going away as the Craftsman line will take over as Lowes in house brand. This is very interesting because we all know Sears used to have Craftsman as their in house brand and there were many tools involved in that lineup! There will be a lot of good things coming from this over time.
