Ridgid has taken away the GEN5X Brushless Impact Wrench and upgraded that model (R86011) to OCTANE status with a good bump in power. The impact wrench now has 620 ft. lbs. removing and 485 ft. lbs. fastening using the new OCTANE batteries. You can also use your old Ridgid batteries with this tool and get just slightly less performance.

The Ridgid Octane line is growing and the tools are becoming better and better. This Impact Wrench came out with 170 ft. lbs. more torque and only increased in price $10 at full retail price. Of course, Ridgid and The Home Depot always run sales so we are sure if you are patient and watch the deals, this tool can be had for less.

Not much has changed from the Gen5X to the OCTANE model in feel. It is still a 4 more Impact with pretty much the same size. There is a fairly noticeable difference in power and the tool is still very comfortable to use.

We rater the Gen5X Brushless Impact Wrench as the BEST DIY Impact Wrench for the money. This New OCTANE model is definitely a bonus with more power and little cost increase.

The OCTANE line is killing it and we think this tool is another must-have from the Ridgid Power Tool Line!
