DEWALT entered into the cordless automotive detailing ring with the new DCM848B 20V XR 5" Random Orbit Polisher allowing us to polish cars without a cord. As you know, the cord is always in the way while detailing cars. Removing the cord from the situation allows for a more relaxing time while working over hoods and around fenders.

Random Orbit Polishers dominate in detail shops as paint correction has taken off these days as ceramic coating has become more and more popular.

Many will ask if a 15mm or 21mm Random Orbit Throw is best. Most shops will own both and use the 21mm for larger jobs and the 15mm for smaller jobs. Each has its own setting.

If you are an enthusiast of detailing cars, this cordless DEWALT polisher is an awesome buy as it removes the cord factor. No worries about the cord rubbing the paint or falling off your shoulder.

If you are an expert, using the DEWALT polisher adds a slight amount of vibration over the Rupes, but it is slight and well worth it for the cordless aspect.

The DEWALT has the following features:
- XR brushless motor for efficient performance and runtime
- (15mm) 2.1 in. orbit diameter and 5 in. backing plate
- Speed range of 2000-5500 OPM
- Variable speed on the trigger and dial helps to better control the tool
- Rubber gear case overmold
- Can be held via the front grip or side handle
