The Michigan Dogman, a creature said to have been spotted in 1887 in Wexford County, Michigan. The creature is described as a seven-foot tall bipedal animal with a human-like torso, blue or amber eyes, and a howl that sounds like a human scream. According to legends, the Dogman appears every ten years, in years ending in 7. Reports of sightings have been made in various locations throughout the state, mainly in the northwest part of the Lower Peninsula. The legend of the Michigan Dogman gained more attention in 1987 when a song about the creature and its sightings was recorded by disc jockey Steve Cook at WTCM-FM.
