Yes Tormato [1978]

In September of 1978, Yes released their ninth studio album, Tormato.
After an extensive and grueling tour to support their 1977 album Going for the One, the band was exhausted and the resulting sessions for Tormato were notably tense.

What makes this album special is that you've got Rick Wakeman back, and the lineup is basically complete - true Yes. Unfortunately the album is a bit uneven.
As always with a magnificent band of this stature and talent, there are always going to be good songs, and great moments.
In particular, "Future Times/Rejoice", "Don't Kill the Whale", "Arriving UFO" and "Onward" are absolute standout tracks.

This album can definitely be viewed as the last of the classic Yes albums, as the members would never again be in this configuration. Yes would endure lots of lineup changes throughout the 80s.
But this album is still worthwhile, and is very enjoyable, although not in the same way as their masterpieces like Close to the Edge or Tales from Topographic Oceans.

Please let us know what you think of this record! We love comments.

Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching :)
