Chinese city hits coldest temperatures on record

According to state broadcaster CCTV on Tuesday (January 24), Mohe, which borders Russia to its north, recorded a temperature of around -53 degrees Celsius (-63.4 Fahrenheit) at around 0700 A.M. (2300 GMT January 21) local time on Sunday (January 22), breaking its previous record set in 1969 at -52.3 Celsius (-62.14 Fahrenheit).
