Catching A Feisty Serval Cat 2023 01 21

Watch as the keepers catch this feisty girl to bring her into the recovery cabana for close observation. For about a day and a half, she was not interested in food which can be an early sign that something isn't right. She was put under close observation and was spotted straining to poo and what came out was kind of gooey. That sample was collected and sent out and it came back showing she had a type of tapeworm, quite likely gotten because she likes to hunt and eat lizards and frogs.

She is being treated and did eat overnight, so she is on the mend.

I just love how observant our amazing keepers are. A fecal sample was collected and sent out. She was given Sub-Q fluids yesterday and started on medication.
