Toledo war - Reason for the Michigan vs. Ohio Feud!

The Toledo War was a conflict between the U.S. state of Ohio and the adjacent territory of Michigan that arose in the late 1830s and early 1840s over a disputed strip of land known as the Toledo Strip. The strip, which was claimed by both Ohio and Michigan, contained the city of Toledo and was located along the border between the two states. The conflict was resolved by the U.S. Congress in 1836, which awarded the Toledo Strip to Ohio. However, the dispute between the two states continued to simmer, and in 1835, Michigan's governor declared that the state would not recognize the decision of Congress. This led to a brief military confrontation between the two states known as the Toledo War. Ultimately, the conflict was resolved in 1836, when Michigan agreed to give up its claim to the Toledo Strip in exchange for the western part of the Upper Peninsula.
