Session 3: WE LOOK AT THE HISTORY, ETYMOLOGY, AND VARIOUS MEANINGS AND USAGES OF OUR ENGLISH WORD “HELL” PLUS OUR WORD CHOICES.

When Jesus is said to have spoken the word “Hell”, He exclusively used the word representing the Hebrew [gay-hinnom] (the valley of Hinnom) or the word transliterated into Greek as [Gehenna]. In either case, the word referred to the Valley of Hinnom as a physical place of official record south and west adjacent to Jerusalem and its history of idolatry, sacrificial child burning, and false worship; and the consequences of - or repentance and reforms against—judgment, uncleanness, desecration and exile.
