After Tony Willett, played by Joseph Cotten, and Anne Hilton, played by Claudette Colbert, run into Johnny Mahoney, played by Jackie Moran, they dance a waltz with Anne's daughter Jane, played by Jennifer Jones, and Bill Smollett, played by Robert Walker.
