Job 1 - Why do Christians suffer?

We ourselves are comforted by God as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings; so, through Christ, we share abundantly in comfort too. If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation, and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings we suffer. It’s probably been one of the biggest blessings in our life when you go through something hard, and you can have believers come alongside you, you have been through something and they can actually help you through it, take you to God’s Word, know what you’re feeling, guide you away from pitfalls, and just strengthen you and help you come out the other side. Going through suffering sometimes means you are going to be that person to comfort the next believer who’s going through it. As we read here, we, as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so we will share abundantly in Christ’s comfort too and I think that’s the important thing when we are going through suffering: we are not alone, we have believers around us.
