Tropical Rain Forest Animals

Numerous species of animals can be found in a tropical rain forest's many strata. When most people think of rain forests, they picture monkeys. Sloths, tapirs, jaguars, ocelots, kinkajous, lemurs, and agoutis are some of the other creatures found in rain forests.

Reptiles and amphibians also thrive in the warm, humid atmosphere. Almost every layer of the forest is home to several species of frogs, salamanders, snakes, and lizards.

In the tropics, there are also lots of butterflies and moths. Numerous species migrate, spending the winter in a rain forest and the summer in our backyards.
