Resignations and Rubles

Within a day of Jacinda Ardern resigning in New Zealand, the President of Vietnam has resigned amid a bribery scandal. Is it simply a coincidence or is there a correlation to these two nations having their currency exchange rate with the Russian ruble established and their heads of state immediately resigning?
