Trials of the Century (Ep. 30): The Rosenberg Trial

On March 29, 1951, Julius Rosenberg and Ethel Rosenberg were convicted of espionage for providing classified information to the Soviet Union and were sentenced to death under Section 2 of the Espionage Act of 1917. The Rosenbergs were executed by the U.S. Federal government in 1953 at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, New York, becoming the first American civilians to be executed for espionage charges and the first to receive that penalty during peacetime. Join us for this episode of Trials of the Century as we discuss a trial that mixed spy story with government power and authority.
