Wat Protket -240 Year Old Mon Temple - Nonthaburi Thailand

A small but interesting temple in Nonthaburi. The ordination hall has been recently renovated but it dates back to King Taksin. It is built in the Ayutthaya style and houses a Buddha that was sculpted by King Rama II when he was the crown prince.

The temple also has a very nice wooden Wihan thst houses the original Buddha thst is estimated to be 500 years old.

The other attraction is the largest replica of a Buddha footprint in Thailand dating back to 1774.

It’s built on the canal in a nice area. It’s very quite and an interesting find if you are out exploring the area.
