US Senator Joe Manchin criticized the United State's state of freedom of speech and the open press. Manchin starts with "The problem that we have is the open press system". He goes on to day that the issue is "all the platforms". He says that anyone can go on 5 platforms and personify the political extremes.

The World Economic Forum in Davos 2023 is an annual meeting of the WEF's members and trustees meant to gather and discuss issues. However the World Economic Forum is typically an analysis of how to make power more centralized and make radical changes in citizens lives, such as insect diets. Joe Manchin along with many other US officials such as Kyrsten Synema, Chris Coons, Brian Kemp and FBI director Chris Wray attended the WEF 2023 forum.
