To find termites in your home, you can look for the following signs:

Swarming termites: During certain times of the year, termites will swarm, which means they will fly out of the colony to start new colonies. If you see winged insects that look like ants, they could be termites.
Mud tubes: Termites build mud tubes as a way to travel between their colony and the wood they're feeding on. These tubes are usually about the width of a pencil and can be found on foundation walls, crawl spaces, and other areas.
Hollowed or damaged wood: Termites eat wood from the inside out, so if you tap on a piece of wood in your home and it sounds hollow, it could be infested with termites.
Termites are normally found in warm, humid climates and are commonly found in the southern and coastal regions of the United States. They are also found in other parts of the world. Termites are attracted to moist, dark environments, so they are often found in crawl spaces, basements, and other areas of a home that are not well-ventilated.
