"The Marks of a False Prophet", (Jeremiah 23:9-40), 2023-01-15, Longbranch Community Church

This is Part Two of Pastor John’s Sermon titled: “The Marks of a False Prophet”. In it, Pastor points out that the telling characteristics of a false prophet are #1 speaking contrary to the Word of God & #2 living contrary to the Word of God. He goes on to say doctrinal deviation and moral deviation – go hand in hand, back and forth. The issues are the same today as they were in Jeremiah’s day, and in Peter’s (greed, adultery, money, sex): We shouldn’t be surprised at today’s issues: “The world has already thrown out the authority of God’s Word – so the dominoes continue to fall.

But the good news is that the Holy Spirit still uses the Word of God to bring people to repentance (Heb 4:12) and it is vitally important to speak (& live) God’s Word – faithfully.
