This ring-shaped behemoth is the brainchild of architecture firm ZNera Space, and it's sure to be the talk of the town... or should we say, the talk of the sky?
The Dubai Circle is essentially a giant ring that encircles the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. It's like putting a hula hoop around a giant redwood tree. The ring is a whopping 3 kilometers wide, and stands at a dizzying 550 meters above the ground. That's higher than the One World Trade Center, for those of you keeping score at home.
But what's the point of a giant ring in the sky, you may ask? Well, the Dubai Circle serves as a "neighborhood in the sky," complete with office space, cultural areas, and housing. That's right, you can live, work, and play all in the same giant, circular building. Talk about convenience!
But how do they plan on keeping this massive structure from falling to the ground like a giant, steel frisbee? The architects claim that the building will be supported by five massive pillars, each acting as an air purifier using a smog filtering design. So not only will the Dubai Circle be a revolutionary new way of living, it'll also help make the air in Dubai more breathable. It's like a superhero in skyscraper form.
But before you start packing your bags to move into the Dubai Circle, you should know that many people have questioned the feasibility of building such a structure. Some have called it a delusional concept, while others have suggested it's more suited for the Metaverse. But let's be real, hasn't Dubai always been known for achieving the impossible? I mean, they turned a desert into a bustling metropolis, complete with the world's first 7-star hotel, the world's biggest aquarium, and the tallest skyscraper. If they can do all that, building a giant ring in the sky seems like a piece of cake.
