Watch: Operation Dudula Picket at the Metro North Education District Offices

South Africa - Cape Town - 17 January 2023 - Deputy chairperson of Operation Dudula, Lulamile Bavuma, and three other members held a picket at the Metro North Education District Offices in Parow where hundreds of parents tried to register their children for the 2023 school year. Anti-immigration group, Operation Dudula, has called on the Western Cape Education Department to put South African student's needs above those of migrant workers in the education system and children of illegal immigrants. With only a day before Western Cape schools re-open for the 2023 academic year, parents, educators and the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) are rushing to find placement for some learners, with many schools already filled to capacity.
