They are small, short-legged birds that feed on flying insects in the air, on the ground, or among plants. They have a broad-based beak with a flame-like shape on either side. There are about four species of them in Oman, the most important of which is the spotted flycatcher, which is a small gray-brown bird, 14 cm long. He visits Oman in the fall and sometimes in the spring and is present among the branches of trees and on the fence and sits on them motivated and then sets off quickly from time to time, turning around in pursuit of insects.
