A murder mystery with a quirky touch written by Suk Pannu and starring Meera Syal. The Indian Aunty from Slough gets mixed up in Highland homicide.

Mrs Sidhu (Meera Syal) is the interfering Indian chef with a taste for murder. Since her husband’s death, she has built a successful reputation as a caterer in Slough, and has snagged a billionaire client at a Scottish shooting estate. But when she is threatened by a mysterious Russian, she drags in Inspector Burton (Justin Edwards).

Supported by hotshot trainee PC Williamson (Okorie Chukwu), they pry into the dark corners of Castle Tannoch, its eccentric laird (John Sessions) and his gruff niece Jane (Hilary Maclean).

Meanwhile, handsome Gamekeeper Callum (Gordon Kennedy) makes her heart skip a beat, while her wayward son Tez (Hamza Jeetoa) causes more of a heart attack with his incendiary distractions.

Loch, Meat Stock And Two Smoking Kippers

Meera Syal stars as the catering sleuth from Slough hunting down a Highland killer.

With Castle Tannoch cut off by snowfall, Mrs Sidhu is - as usual - finding "clues" that give Inspector Burton stress headaches. Pills, a game pie and blood that turns out to be quite something else.

Mrs Sidhu soon has her nose in everyone’s business on the highland estate, but it’s their leisure pursuits that raise her eyebrows. Big Willie Kendrick’s use of the old estate cottage certainly wasn’t for corporate entertainment. And she is sure the maid knows more than she’s letting on.

Meanwhile, Mrs Sidhu's son Tez proposes he needs a gun to protect her. And if that doesn’t fluster her, hunky gamekeeper Callum has her heart fluttering with a proposal of a different kind.

As Mrs Sidhu probes deeper into the death of Willie Kendrick and the secrets of the troubled hunting lodge, she faces a difficult choice between her heart and her head for crime.

The Secret of the Unmade Bed

After a double personal disaster, Mrs Sidhu is undaunted and determined to put things right at Castle Tannoch. Her apologies soon turn to worry when another of the Castle guests pays the price for being indiscreet.

What’s left of the hunting party must accept the grim realisation they have become the quarry. Will they be picked off one by one? With another body on her hands, Mrs Sidhu realises she’s made a series of errors. The question is, will they be her last?

While Mrs Sidhu plunges ever deeper into the darkness of Castle Tannoch, Constable Williamson declares a truce with Inspector Burton and the two enjoy some time out in a steamy situation.

A Kick in the Grallochs

The ragged remains of the hunting party are looking down the barrel of a gun held by the shaky hand of Sir Alex Kendrick. Held hostage by a mad man, Robert divulges the real reason he came to Castle Tannoch and Jane finally reveals her true feelings for him.

Meanwhile, Burton’s plan to end the hostage situation leaves a life hanging in the balance. With one final startling realisation, all Mrs Sidhu’s suspicions will be turned on their heads. A final reckoning awaits in the murderer’s deadly highland game.
