Heb 11 : 13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed (agreement, acknowledgment: profess, promise, confess, declare, do) that they were strangers (foreigners, outsiders, visitors) and pilgrims on the earth.

(NTJ-Stern) All these people continued to have faith until they died, without having received what had been promised. They had only seen and believed it from a distance, while recognizing that they were foreigners and temporary residents on earth.
