Timor Aklin advocates for Jewish rights on the temple mount and had aligned himself with those who are pushing for the joint prayer of Jews and Muslims in Muslim controlled areas. He had taken a bold stance in supporting the cause by entering The Dome of The Rock and had recited out loud the “Shema Yisrael” prayer.

His video had sparked outrage on social media among Jews and Arabs. Some Jews were upset and accused him of causing provocation by entering the site, while other Jews praised him for his grit and ‘Kiddush Hashem’. The nature of the Arabic comments got the attention of the Israeli Police as they had recognized a potential outrage. To calm the spirits, to the request of the Waqf, Aklin was later arrested, interrogated and accused of attempting to destabilize the region and disrupt the safety of the public. Then he was released and banned from coming anywhere near the Temple Mount gates. As a reply for the ban Aklin had told the police “I do not need permission to enter the house of our father”.
