Garden Prep January 2023. Tilling & Treating.

Just doing some garden work on a nice warm January afternoon in South Carolina.
Last year was our first garden and we had significant issues with the hard clay soil. Carrots and Potatos had a rough time fighting the compression of the clay and suffered.
Tomatos, Squash and other 'above ground' veggies didn't seem to mind as much.
I've been adding leaves, chicken poop and bedding (do you really want to separate em?), egg shells, old chicken food, and anything else that might break up the clay and inspire some worms and beneficial bug life to move in.
Today was nice enough to till in all into the soil, and I tossed in a 40 pound bag of Soft-Cal pellets just for good measure.

Hopefully when its time to plant in a couple months we'll have better soil to deal with.
