The More Comfortable We Get, The Less Happy We Become

Welcome to Firearms of America! Today I am out trail running in the Florida swamp, and while stopping for a little break, I decided to record this little Sunday sermon on the difference between the materialistic world of the flesh that has no meaning or value, or purpose, and the real world, as it was created by God, that operates in perfect balance and harmony.

When you are out in the wild and the further you are out in the wild, the more you learn from the wildlife about the real life, the life without unnecessary worries, fears, anxieties. In our materialistic world, the human world that we have created ourselves, we surround ourselves with more and more comfort. But the more comfortable we get, the less happy we become, the more meaningless our lives become.

It is truly a shame, because we have the capacity to create by the spirit, giving the glory to God and do good. Any technology or industry could be used to do good, if only if we could give up our pride and give glory to God. Yet, we take the glory to ourselves and become corrupt.

Take the internet for example. How much good can come out of the internet? Plentiful. Yet, we see all these negative effects of the internet on our society. Why? Because instead of using it by the spirit for doing good, we are using it for our comfort, our glory, our materialism.

What happened to the energy and the drive and the passions that we had as kids? These things come from the spirit and when we are kids, we are not yet corrupted by the materialistic world. Our spirit is not yet suppressed by the flesh. But the older we get, the more comfortable we become, the more we suppress our spirit in order to maintain that meaningless comfort. We sacrifice our purpose for the sake of the flesh.

The good news is that the spirit is still in you. Give up your comfort. Submit your flesh. Follow the spirit. God bless!
